China Adhesives and Tape Industry Association (CATIA) was originally named as China National Adhesives Industry Association, founded in September 1987 in Beijing. It is a national and professional trade organization voluntarily made up of enterprises and institutions in the industries of adhesive, sealant and tape, and is a social organization with the status of a legal person registered in the Ministry of Civil Affairs. CATIA is under the professional guidance and supervision & administration of the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) and the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.

The mission of CATIA is to unite all member units to comply with the Constitution, laws, regulations and policies, and social morality and ethics; to undertake various activities to promote the development and progress of adhesive, sealant and tape industries in China; to serve companies and institutions in adhesive, sealant and tape industries; to enhance communications and collaborations among companies and industries at home and abroad; to put forward suggestions for the industry development and reflect complaints and requirements from industry and enterprises to government departments; to act as a bridge connecting the government and companies.

CATIA has now eight branches: Pressure Sensitive Adhesives & Products Branch, Polymer Emulsion Adhesive Committee, Rubber Adhesive Committee, Polyurethane Adhesive Committee, Hot Melt Adhesive Committee, Engineering Adhesive Committee, Construction Adhesive Committee and Acrylic Acid (Ester) Branch.

Since the establishment, CATIA has consistently adhered to the working style of “Unity, Service, Innovation and Pragmatism”, always kept the aim of service in mind, done its utmost to serve member units and to promote the development and progress of the adhesive, sealant and tape industries.

There are nearly 380 member units including large and medium-sized enterprises, research institutions and universities with relatively large scale and high prestige. CATIA engages 30 well-known adhesive and tape experts at home and abroad as its advisors. CATIA has established close contact and friendly cooperation with trade organizations from the America, Europe, Japan, Korea and Taiwan Region. And CATIA enjoys considerably high reputation and significant influences among the industry and enterprises at home and abroad.

Since the 4th General Assembly, CATIA has published several editions of Member List in 2000, 2003, 2006, 2011 and 2014 in Chinese and English languages, which received warm welcome and extensive praise from member units, users, raw material suppliers, distributors and investment institutions at home and abroad. In recent years, because of the great changes of number of member units, scale of enterprises, product structure as well as composition and principals of the 8th Council of CATIA, CATIA decides to publish the 8th edition of Member List (in 2017 version) in Chinese and English languages. We sincerely hope that 2017 Member List could promote communication and cooperation between communities and people engaged in adhesive and tape. Let’s work together for the new brilliance of adhesive and tape industries!
