China Adhesives and Tape Industry Association (CATIA) was originally named as China National Adhesives Industry Association, founded in September 1987 in Beijing. It is a national and professional trade organization voluntarily made up of enterprises and institutions in the industries of adhesive, sealant and tape, and is a social organization with the status of a legal person registered in the Ministry of Civil Affairs. The Party-building leading organ of China Adhesives and Tape Industry Association is Society Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, the industry management department is Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the registration administrative authority is Ministry of Civil Affairs.
The missions of CATIA are to solidly promote the innovative development of the industry under the guidance of the Thought of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era; carry out various activities around promoting the development and progress of China’s adhesive, sealant, and tape industries in accordance with market-oriented principles; to serve the adhesive, sealant, and tape industries, as well as enterprises and institutions, and reflect their demands; to actively promote exchanges and cooperation among domestic and foreign adhesive, sealant, and tape enterprises and industry organizations; to implement national industrial policies, participate in industry management, and play a bridging role between the government and enterprises.
CATIA has now seven branches: Polymer Emulsion Adhesive Committee, Rubber Adhesive Committee, Polyurethane Adhesive Committee, Pressure Sensitive Adhesives & Products Branch, Hot Melt Adhesive Committee, Engineering Adhesive Committee, and Construction Adhesive Committee.
Since the establishment, CATIA has consistently adhered to the working style of “Unity, Service, Innovation and Pragmatism”, always kept the aim of service in mind, done its utmost to serve member units and to promote the development and progress of the adhesive, sealant and tape industries.
There are more than 420 member units including large and medium-sized enterprises, research institutions and universities with relatively large scale and high prestige. CATIA engages 34 well-known adhesive and tape experts at home and abroad as its advisors. CATIA has established close contact and friendly cooperation with trade organizations from the America, Europe, Japan, Korea and Taiwan Region. And CATIA enjoys considerably high reputation and significant influences among the industry and enterprises at home and abroad.
